Three Gorges Project
As the largest power generation supplier to the Three Gorges Project, ALSTOM provides advanced technology & equipment to altogether 16 turbine generator units among the total of 26 units.
It has successfully provided 8 out of the total 14 units of 700 MW turbine generator units and all of the governor systems and computer control systems for the Left Bank Power Station. The company has also been awarded the contract to supply the Three Gorges Right Bank Power Station with 4 x 700 MW Francis turbines and generators.
ALSTOM' s continued success in the Three Gorges Project verified the company's Transfer of Technology policy. After ALSTOM has transferred its leading technology to the Left Bank, it continued to develop new and improved technology through an ambitious R&D program. This enabled ALSTOM to successfully propose a new and competitive technology with improved performances for the Three Gorges Right Bank Contract.
